Praising God for Tools for Life

I have the greatest devotional in the world. It's easy to read and easy to understand, but most of all.. it is applicable to my everyday life. It is called the Exodus daily devotional and it is put out by The Weighdown Workshop. It helps keep me focused on my God and how to not get distracted by everything that is always going on around us - that keep us from being pure and effective before God. It is my pleasure to share today's passage with you.. and send you to www.weighdown.com to buy one of your own!!

The following is the October 8 entry in the Exodus Daily Devotional by Gwen Shamblin

''You yourselves have seen what I did to Egypt, and how I carried you on eagles' wings and brought you to myself.'' Exodus 19:4

God rescued the Israelites from Egypt and then started testing them right off the bat. For the first three days of wandering in the desert, they found no water. When they finally did find water, it was too bitter to drink. They failed the trust test, but God still miraculously made the water sweet and then led them to not one, but twelve, springs of water and seventy palm trees.
This desert exam-even though it was resolved and followed by an oasis--never sank into the hearts of the Israelites. They never connected that God was going to take them to the edge of death and then rescue them at the twelfth hour. Are you learning that God will take you to the edge of death with your stronghold and then rescue you in an amazing way? You will experience desert oasis after desert oasis, over and over. Learn to trust Him. - Gwen Shamblin
